Chairs and Such and Whatnot

Class today was crazy, as usual.  However, something I really enjoyed was the opportunity to roll around the building in those awesome alien chairs.  I wasn't so sure at first, but after realizing how nice and almost liberating it felt to roll around so smoothly, I quickly jumped on board.  Going as fast as possible was the first objective, obviously, and I was happy to see my fellow peers thinking the same thing while obnoxiously smashed into things and *AHEM* some people too.  LUUCKILY, nothing was damaged (this time) so ultimately the experience was a complete success.  Nicely done Beth, all according to plan huh?  EHH?

Annual Egg Mating Journey 2011

For this assignment I have been given an Egg (it's given name) for which I can do whatever I want with.  For quite some time I simply could not think of anything to do with the Egg, nothing worthwhile.  Finally, after making the Egg a small, temporary bed out of a Styrofoam cup cut into the shape of a nest + some toilet paper, and of course -- watching a few episodes of Deadwood with it, the idea came to me.  My mother is in fact going on vacation this week to Michigan where she will camp out near the dunes with two of her sisters.  I figured that it would be a fantastic learning experience for the Egg if it, I dunno, maybe tagged along with them; got out for a while.  Now, it's my ultimate goal that this egg has a good time and then returns safely in three days, so I have made sure to bundle it with my mother's luggage as snug as possible... I'll wish it luck when it's time to ship off and I sincerely hope it meets a Fem-Egg to maybe shack up with, it is that time of year after all.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also drew a really stupid looking face on said Egg.  :]

EDIT2: Here are some pictures of Egg taken while enjoying himself in Muskegon, MI.

My Course Expectations...

...for Seeing Sideways.  Quite frankly, I'm pretty darn excited to be in this class.  I don't want to jump the gun, but I'm expecting to learn quite a bit about myself and about some of the silly conventions of our lives as human beings.  I really feel as if I'm going to enjoy this class and hopefully in the end, be able to see things a little bit more clearly.  To get through every day life I rely on the fact that just about everything is silly and ridiculous if you think about it hard and long enough, it really helps get you through the week.  Pondering, realizing and laughing at the superficialities of mankind's handiwork is one of the few things that'll always be true tomorrow, and the next day after that.  However, I am aware that this class isn't JUST about poking fun at the silly things and I am just as eager to explore new outlooks as well as old ones.
